A coloratura soprano who was born in Hong Kong. She is the first Chinese musician who was invited to be a professor of the International Music Master Classes at WienerMusikSeminar. Her performance was proclaimed “Noticeable beautiful and sonorous voice, with highly musical interpretation.”

 

She was the Prize Winner of Allegro-Vivo Internationales Kammermusik Festival Austria and the “Prof. Dichler Competition” of the Wiener MusikSeminar. She was invited to perform at Schloss Waldreichs and Schloss Ottenstein of Austria. She contributed to the Wiener MusikSeminar and performed at Haydn-Geburtshaus, University of Music and Bösendorfer Hall in Vienna. She was a guest soloist of The HSBC Classics Music Festival at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre. She recorded a number of Art Songs recordings. A sacred music album “The Treasurable Gift” was released in 2013. She performed in a number of concerts as a guest soloist, including the New Year Concert presented by the Collegium Musicum HKBU, the Mozart Requiem and the Handel’s Messiah presented by HK University Alumni Association Choir, and the Charity Concert presented by The Chinese University of HK. In 2016 and 2018, she was invited to perform as a guest soloist with the Savaria Symphonieorchester in Vienna. In 2019, she and her students were invited to perform in a charity concert at Katholische Kirche St. Jakobus in Frankfurt. In 2023, 2024, HK Education Bureau invited Miss Leung to teach vocal workshops and masterclass for the schools’ music teachers in Hong Kong.

 

She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Music at Hong Kong Baptist University, the Professional Diploma at Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and the Fellowship Diploma of the Trinity College of Music, London. She has been teaching at the Music Department of Hong Kong Baptist University since 1994. Now, she is appointed as a vocal lecturer at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Moreover, she founded “VOICES OF THE LARKS” in 1994 and “YOUNG VOCALISTS” voice training school in 2009. With her teachings, many students have been awarded with prizes in International Music Festivals. She encouraged her students to attend the Wiener MusikSeminar at The University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna from 2016, flourishing students with music-sharing experiences in the international horizons. She inspired many distinguished young vocalists and developed great passion in Singing with all of her students.
